JSC “EP Georgia Generation” has successfully completed the next stage of the reconstruction of “Rioni HPP”. A brand new, ELPROM manufactured, #2 power transformer imported by the company from Europe was replaced and installed.
For this project of Rioni HPP rehabilitation “EP Georgia Generation” has invested up to 8,000,000 GEL, which includes a complete rehabilitation of the generator in addition to a new transformer.
“We have carried out quite important works. In addition to the fact that the installed capacity of the HPP has increased, the reliability of its operation has increased, and most importantly, we are trying to run the HPP in accordance with European standards”, – said Levan Sachaleli, a member of the board of directors of EP Georgia Generation. According to him, during the rehabilitation of the generator, it will be possible to handle increased power with the new transformer at “Rioni HPP”.
Reconstruction-rehabilitation works are also being actively carried out at other HPPs being in the company’s ownership.
