EUR 20 million for Georgian energy – EP Georgia Generation continues to make investments

EP Georgia Generation continues to rehabilitate the hydropower plants it owns. The total investment for the rehabilitation project of the three hydro power plants amounts to EUR 20 mln.

“The company’s goal is to bring the hydropower plants in line with modern, European standards. Currently, rehabilitation projects are carried out at the Ortachala HPP, the Gumati HPP cascade, and the Chitakhevi HPP. Important technical equipment, turbines, new generator stators, working wheels, and more equipment necessary for the rehabilitation projects have already been delivered from the Czech Republic and Slovenia,” – said Levan Sachaleli, Member of the Board of Directors of EP Georgia generation.

As Levan Sachaleli stated, the next priority is the Ladjanuri HPP hydro-engineering structures, the condition of which requires special attention.

“Significant rehabilitation and reinforcement works are planned in this direction from next year, for which it is planned to mobilize appropriate financial resources, and at this stage, design works are being conducted intensively,” said Levan Sachaleli. According to him, as a result of the works carried out at the HPPs, the infrastructure and safety of the HPPs will be significantly improved. Also, the number of accidents will be significantly reduced.
