Chitakhevi HPP

Chitakhevi HPP is a medium head, diversion hydroelectric power plant. It is located on the river Mtkvari, near the railway station Dviri, 17 km away from the city of Borjomi. It operates without regulation-“run-of-river”.

Chitakhevi HPP was put into operation in 1949. The design installed capacity of the HPP is 21.0 MW, The design generation of electricity is 117.7 million kWh.
